George G's Race Car Game

Still image for this video
George has used 'selection' to help make a choice in his race game. Not only can the car move, but the car changes colour if it goes off the track!

5L were asked to use Scratch (a program to help learn the skills of coding) to create an algorithm that make a ball move across a grid and leave a pattern while it was moving. To be successful, the class had to break down the problem into small, simple steps.

Ilian, however, went one step further. His algorithm allows the user to take control. They can move the ball around the grid and choose the pattern they make by pressing the arrow keys and the 's' key. To clear the pattern, you need to press 'c'.

Amazing!

The Haka

5L have been learning the New Zealand haka which they performed to each other brilliantly this week!

The children have produced some excellent front covers in their art lessons, in the style of Anglo Saxon knots.
