The school has been invited at short notice to sing at the St Albans Annual Service to commemorate victims of the Holocaust. St Albans Mayor Councillor Geoff Harrison will host this. The event is from 6pm on Sunday 29 January at St Albans City and District Council’s Chamber, in the Civic Centre, St Peters Street. Children should arrive at the Council Chamber at 5.30 pm. The service will last approximately 1 hour. Children should wear smart school uniform.

Parents wishing to attend the service must register their attendance by emailing mayoralty@stalabns.gov.uk

or calling 01727 819544

The service will be addressed by local rabbis and will feature moving stories with candles lit in memory of those who perished.  The event will be appropriate for Year 5 and 6 children.  However, as this is an emotional topic, please choose whether you feel this is an occasion you would like your child to attend. It will be a great honour to perform to the mayor at such an important service; I do hope your child is able to represent the school.

Your child must be able to attend a rehearsal on Wednesday 25th January at 8am in the music room. All further rehearsals will be in school time.

Please complete the form sent home with your child on Friday and return to the school office by Tuesday 24thJanuary. The choir will rehearse the songs for the Memorial Service during the first Albert Hall Choir rehearsal on Wednesday 25th January at 8am.
