Write a paragraph about what it might be like to live in a lighthouse 50 or 100 years ago. Describe the curved thick walls and small windows. Think about the daily climb to the top to check the light. Not all lighthouses were on islands, some were high on cliffs on the mainland, but it would still have been a lonely job without the mass communication we have today.
