School Travel Plan
The School Travel Plan is a living document which is regularly updated to encourage safe, sustainable and active travel to and from school with key objectives of:
- Improving safety on the journey to school by reducing car use.
- Reducing congestion around the school.
- Encouraging Active Travel.
- Improve health and fitness among the whole school community.
- Increase Road Safety Education in the school.
Some of the initiatives included in the plan are:
- Taking part in Walk to School Week. Week commencing 18th May 26.
- Annual Bikeability Course for Year 6.
- Local walking trips where possible.
- Supporting the 20mph zone proposal for North and Central St. Albans (the consultation ended for this on 11/01/26).
- Annual Road Safety Awareness Assembly.
- Road Safety signs for outside of school to encourage no parking on zig zag lines.
