Forced Perspective Photograph Challenge

Forced perspective photography is where you create an optical illusion by positioning objects at different distances from the camera to make them look like they are larger or smaller than they actually are. They use this technique in filmmaking too so that actors who are playing giants look much bigger than they actually are (think of Hagrid from Harry Potter or Gandalf from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings).

Can you create a forced perspective photograph? You may need to get another family member involved so that one person can take the photo and one can be in the photo so choose a time when someone is available to help you. Make sure you ask permission from an adult at home to use a camera for this project.

There are some nice example photos on this blog to get you thinking:

Happy snapping!
